Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy is a revolutionary non-invasive skin treatment method that harnesses the power of high-intensity pulses of visible light to address a multitude of common skin concerns. This advanced technology is adept at targeting an array of pigmentation irregularities, including but not limited to sun spots, age spots, and freckles, effectively restoring a more even and radiant complexion. IPL therapy is highly effective in combating vascular issues such as broken capillaries and rosacea, providing relief and noticeable improvement in skin tone and texture. By precisely targeting the affected areas with controlled pulses of light energy, IPL prompts the body's natural healing response, gradually diminishing the appearance of these imperfections for a clearer and more uniform skin tone. In addition to its pigment-correcting abilities, IPL therapy also boasts collagen-boosting properties. By stimulating collagen production, IPL helps to rejuvenate and firm the skin, visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of ageing. This dual-action approach not only enhances the skin's overall appearance but also promotes long-term skin health and vitality.
If you have pigmentation, sun damage, spider veins, rosacea, acne or just looking for some skin rejuvenation then this is the treatment for you. When combined with a chemical peel using the Illumifacial protocol the results are unrivalled. The IPL/Peel combination are particularly beneficial as the peel removed all the dead skin cells and debris from the skins surface so the light can penetrate deeper.
Have you noticed your previously plump cheeks are no longer there, or jowls are starting to appear? You miss the fresh face you used to have? Our dermal filler creation procedure can be used to subtly reverse these signs of aging.
Dermal filler can also be used in areas like the chin cheek or temple to recontour this area where it might otherwise be a weaker feature.
As with all treatments at Rae, consultation is key. This treatment takes 30-60 minutes and you can expect to need 3-6 treatments 4 weeks apart. If the peel combination is chosen this will be applied first. There is no discomfort with this, just a slight tingling of the skin. A cold gel is applied to the skin and then the IPL device is applied to any areas requiring treatment. It is a sharp sensation similar to the flicking of an elastic band. Once treatment is complete a cooling gel is applied to skin. It is particularly important to discontinue any retinol products prior to treatment. You must not have been in the sun 4 weeks prior or have any fake tan products on the area. Your skin may remain red for up to an hour post treatment. Results are seen 5-7 days after your first treatment.
